About Height to CM

Forms, visas, sports rosters and doctors abroad ask for height in centimeters and weight in kilograms. This site converts both ways with the exact legal definitions, and every height and weight has its own answer page.

How we keep it accurate

The conversions use the exact definitions in NIST Handbook 44, Appendix C: 1 inch = 2.54 cm, 1 foot = 12 inches, 1 pound = 0.45359237 kg, 1 stone = 14 pounds, and °C = (°F − 32) ÷ 1.8. The math runs on whole numbers, so nothing drifts the way decimals can in a computer, and rounding happens once, at the end: centimeters to 0.1 cm in the converter and 0.01 cm on each height page, kilograms to 0.01 kg, temperatures to 0.1 degree.

U.S. average heights come from the CDC’s Anthropometric Reference Data (2021–2023), and the cooking temperatures from the USDA FSIS chart. Each is linked on the page where it is used. If you spot a mistake, check the math shown next to the result; we fix errors as soon as we find them.
